Disposing of Sharps

We would like to thank all the people who have not been able to access the Diabetes Centre in the last few months to dispose of their sharps boxes, due to restrictions recommended by government guidelines. From Friday 21st August 2020 sharps boxes can now be disposed of in a designated yellow bin at the Overdale Hospital, on your right as you drive into the hospital (just before the main car park). The bin will be opened Monday and Wednesday 9am – 4pm and on Friday 9am-3pm to reduce the risk of sharps injuries to the public, it will be locked out of these times and emptied overnight.

We continue to request that people only visit the centre when they have been offered an appointment, please bear with us as we adhere to government guidelines. If you are concerned with the management of your diabetes please continue to consult with your GP or the right service or call the Centre on 444599.

Thanks
