Massive thanks to Richard Mayo, who will be running the London Marathon on Sunday, 26th April, for Diabetes Jersey (DJ).

This is in recognition of DJ, who generously funded the essential MODY genetic testing at Exeter University Hospital. This testing is to establish if local families, including his own, carry a mutated gene linked to diabetes and has cost DJ an estimated £12,000 so far.

MODY (Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young) is a rare form of Diabetes, different from type 1 and type 2, and runs strongly in families.

With an increase in the number of sensors that can now be supplied by an individual’s registered pharmacy to cover 90 days of usage, this will improve the position where faulty sensors need to be returned directly to the supplier for replacement.

Our Silent Auction goes live at 10am on Friday 7th November, with last bids at 10pm on Saturday 22nd November. Good news is you can bid if you are attending the ball or not!

People will still be able to bid at the ball in the evening (up until 10pm only) with both electronic bids and paper bids. There will be hard copy Auction Booklets on every table during the evening, with full details and separate sheets with the bidding procedure (see full details below)

There will be a large screen near the entrance to the ball so people can see the current bids.

Winning bids will be notified by email direct from Bidding Owl.

TO BID FOR THE SILENT AUCTION PRIZES ON YOUR PHONE, MOBILE DEVICE OR DESKTOP PLEASE SEE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:

1. On your Phone’s browser type in new.biddingowl.com

or Scan the following QR code 

2. Go to Bidder Login (top right profile of person and then click blue Bidder Login box). If you have already registered as a Bidder, put in your email address and password and press Continue, if you haven’t registered before, put in your email address and you will be taken to a registration document. If you can’t remember your password press ‘Forgot Password’ and you will receive an email to reset your Password.

3. In the Search box below Featured Auctions put in Diabetes Jersey.

4. Click on Dine4Diabetes Autumn Fundraiser and in the ‘Choose a category to View Items’ box click all (21).

5. You will now see all 21 Bids, Click on the image you are interested to bid on, you will see the current Bidding Price and a Bid Box, put in the amount you would like to bid and Press Confirm and the new Bid price will show.

6. If you want to see the Auction List, there should be a copies of the booklet on your table.

7. There will be a TV Monitor near the entrance showing the latest bids on each item also.

8. THE BIDDING CLOSES AT 10pm.

9. It may be possible to put in Manual Bids if there is time on certain items.
